Oh lovely Halloween. Last Friday the kids dressed up for halloween at school. Luckily Dakota had a late start day so while I laid in bed she got the two kids all dressed up and ready for Halloween.

Baylee decided to be a 50's waitress.

And Barret decided to be the Joker from Batman.

The Beginning!!!!
Normally, we would conquer this hike late July or August-- Possibly September. But October? What were we thinking? The week before it snowed in SLC. Those of you who know me... once I have a plan it is really hard to stop me. My plan was to take Dakota up and hike the back side of Timpanogos. So here we are.
(Please note, early this week, I watched fox news- the weather report was 80 degrees and clear skies) We saw the blue sky for about 3 minutes sporadically during our five hour trip. Note to self- Don't watch fox news weather, stay up til 10.

Here we are, feeling good, we have shed some layers. It is amazing how warm you get when you are hiking up and up and up. I think we stopped to shed layers 3 times in our first hour.

Rick has wanted to go on this hike for a while. He and the kids headed up this morning. They forgot the camera, so they used his phone to take all of these pictures. Pretty fun little family hike.

DOES ANYONE REMEMBER RICK'S "LOVE" FOR SNAKES?

Remember the day Barret decided to sleep with his pet snake? The next morning he awoke and the snake was not cuddled up with him anymore. Rick quickly left work to come home and look for the lost pet. He made it very clear he was not sleeping in the house with a lost snake.
So here he is climbing on rocks. He set his hand on the rock and turned to watch kids to make sure they were okay. He felt something crawl across his hand....

I am sad to say, I missed it! Rick screaming like a girl! Almost jumping off the rock ledge into the water! Dakota just laughed and laughed! (after she let out a little yelp herself)

Barrets new Rec Specs

The Boys of our Family are modeling Barrets newest gLaSsEs!
Barret needed new glasses to fit under his football helmet. He was so excited he called me frequently at work to see when they were ready. After the longest 48 hour wait, we drove downtown to Gateway and picked up his newest fashion statement! He loves the Blues ones especially. I tried to talk him into something a little less electric, like silver or bronze, his response was "isn't silver a shocking color?" So here we are! Our gorgeous boys! On our way out to the car, I couldn't help it, I asked him what would happen if he got to school and someone made fun of him because they were different. He response "So what! I like them!"
